A Comprehensive Inventory of Cultural Landscapes
Our goal over time is that the collaborative work of IFLA members and others can be focused on developing a comprehensive international inventory of cultural landscapes. The process can start with one landscape type or one region of a country and expand over many years to document the entire range of cultural landscape heritage for a country and a region. The inventory process is one of the first and best tools for protection of cultural landscapes. Computer-based inventories and comprehensive inventory reports can aid in land use planning, protection of unique places, cultural heritage tourism, and education.
This part of the IFLA CLC website offers a collection of cultural landscape inventories from around the world. These lists are steps toward the comprehensive international inventory of cultural landscapes. IFLA CLC urges you to contribute to a local, regional or national inventory effort and to provide us with your preliminary or final lists to help build the comprehensive international inventory of cultural landscapes.
